A division of the Marine Industry Association, BITO's special character as an industry training organisation is built on the long tradition of apprenticeships in New Zealand's boating industry.

From successful Trailer Power Boats to internationally acclaimed Super Yachts and race winning performance Yachts, the New Zealand marine industry is forecast to double in size over the next 10 to 15 years and is dependant on a strong and well trained work force.
The New Zealand marine industry is one of New Zealand’s largest manufacturing industries with over $1.8 billion in sales, employing over 10,000 people and has over 200 employers employing almost 600 apprentices.
Contact us today and we would be pleased to discuss any aspects of our apprenticeship training programmes with you.

NZ MARINE EXPORT GROUP

Mission Statement:
"To increase profitable export growth for the New Zealand marine industry".

The New Zealand Marine Export Group Inc represents the diverse mix of companies involved directly and indirectly in the growing marine export sector. In recent times, with the spotlight of the world focussed on New Zealand and the running of the America’s Cup, the growth of the industry has been incredible. It now ranks firmly within the top ten earners of foreign exchange for the NZ economy.
Although the group's initial activities were overseas boat shows and industry publications, the scope of NZ Marine’s activities has grown significantly more comprehensive. NZ Marine 'flies the flag' for New Zealand at major boat shows in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Australia. NZ Marine is also involved with a wide range of other activities including publishing magazines and newsletters for world-wide distribution, holding international events such as the New Zealand Millennium Cup Superyacht Regatta and symposia such as Yacht Vision, and working with Government on important issues affecting the New Zealand marine industry.
The Board of NZ Marine has, through a recent strategic review process, reaffirmed its commitment to assisting the development of offshore markets for its members. The focus of the organisation is clearly on identifying, understanding and positioning the New Zealand Marine Industry to suit various markets and contributing to the communication of the industry’s unique capabilities.
NZ Marine now has approximately 170 members representing the majority of exporters in the New Zealand marine industry. It is estimated that NZ Marine members account for 85% of the total marine exports from New Zealand.
