New Zealand is proud to be part of the exotic and fascinating south sea cruising ground.  New Zealand is made up of three main islands and many smaller ones.  The North Island offers a sub-tropical experience, sailing around its shores, where you can experience wonderful bays, beaches, vineyards, islands and interesting ports.  The South Island is home to the  mountainous spines of the Southern Alps which can be seen from the ocean.  The island's Fiordland and Marlborough Sounds are extremely beautiful and popular destinations  for larger and more intrepid cruisers whose sailors want to experience stunning scenery and unique wildlife.  The sub-Antarctic islands further south, meanwhile, are a rugged and fascinating wilderness to explore.

New Zealand has an enviable reputation for producing world-class sailors, superb yachts and innovative and high quality marine products, all backed up by superb maritime services.  New Zealand is a great place to spend working on your vessel - in most ports you can find world-class boat building and refit facilities.
