Allpower Marine expands dealer network

Allpower Marine has expanded its NZ dealer network bringing the total number of Hyundai SeasAll dealers to seven.

The two newest appointments are Trev Terry Marine in Taupo and Powerboat Centre in Christchurch and join current dealers Seapower in Opua, AB Marine Services in Auckland, Mastertech Marine in Tauranga, Seafarer Marine in Picton and Queenstown Marine.

Allpower Marine Business Development Manager Mark Harrison says a strong and competent dealer network is integral to the success of the Hyundai SeasAll brand in New Zealand.

“We’ve chosen these dealers for their wealth of experience within the industry, they will make very welcome additions to our growing New Zealand marine division,” said Harrison.

Brock Terry, Dealer Principal at Trev Terry Marine in Taupo, believes Allpower Marine’s Hyundai SeasAll engines will be very strong in the central north island region.

“Seeing the reputation that Hyundai has had in the automotive industry for performance, efficiency and reliability, particularly here in the central north island, it clearly shows the future strength the engines will have in marine market,” said Terry.

“We believe there is an opening in the market here for the smaller diesel models, particularly in re-powers. I’m very excited to be able to represent Allpower Marine especially as further models are added to their engine range.”

Equally excited with becoming an Allpower Marine dealer is Powerboat Centre in Christchurch with Sales Manager, John Phillips, saying the potential for the brand is huge.

“Looking back at when our company started in 1973, the Japanese outboards were just arriving on the scene and look at their market position now, they’re leading the way. I see the same happening with Allpower Marine’s Hyundai SeasAll engines.  We’ll be looking to promote the engines in various packages alongside our Stabicraft, Huntsman and McLay boat brands,” said Phillips.

Phillips predicts more and more users will be looking at diesel engines given reduced availability of petrol in prime boating locations.

“In the Marlborough Sounds we’re seeing petrol becoming less and less accessible on the wharf. These Hyundai SeasAll diesel engines present a number of other advantages including economy, reliability and performance so you don’t have to visit the pump as often.”

Allpower Marine will release two new Hyundai SeasAll engines in 125hp and 420hp configurations in 2012, joining the 170hp and 250hp models already available and further dealer appointments are also expected soon.
