Inflatable Pontoon Fabricator – Kumeu
Explorer Boats needs an experienced tube builder to join our team. We are based in Kumeu which is an easy 30 minutes from Auckland on a bad day against the traffic, we also offer flexibility in start and finish times to suit your needs.
The suitable applicant must have the following skills and knowledge:
- Experienced in constructing Hypalon tubes for RIBs up to 12 metres
- Be organized to ensure the various components of the build comes together in the right time and sequence
- Follow a defined process and not cut corners but also contribute to continual improvement of our processes
- Display a high level of detail and accuracy
- Proudly produce a product to a high standard ensuring quality at every step, it is the pontoon that everyone sees on a RIB so needs to look great.
- Carry our repairs and re-tubes on older RIBs
- Work within a team environment and be prepared to assist where needed.
This is a permanent full-time position and due to the nature of the marine industry there are peak summer periods when we need to work extra hours. We would welcome support at boat shows and other events that we hold.

Marine Electrics NZ seeks electricians
Marine Electrics NZ has full time positions available for both experienced 230 Volt, DC Electricians and Marine Engineers (with DC electrical experience). A background in marine isn’t necessarily required. We are looking for qualified and experienced electricians or marine engineers with a good understanding of DC electrical wiring. A solid background and a keen positive attitude are key. You may be an experienced auto sparky or a commercial 230 volt sparky with a keen interest in boating and fishing looking for a new challenge in an industry you are passionate about.
The successful applicant in this exciting and growing industry will be well presented, have a full NZ driver’s license and a keen interest in the marine industry. A high level of verbal & written English communication skills are essential. You will be able to operate with a high level of autonomy which in turn requires time management skills & trustworthiness. Company vehicle, cell phone and uniform supplied. Wage and package details can be discussed in an interview and will reflect the applicant’s level of skill. It can be a demanding industry, our clients have high expectations so you will need to cope well under pressure.
This position is based in Westhaven, Auckland, however we offer an on-site service to our clients so you will be working at all Auckland City marinas, boat parks etc.
