Alloy Yachts is proud to announce that their latest delivery, 39.16m explorer yacht CaryAli, has been listed as a finalist in the 2013 International Superyacht Society Awards.
Hardy yet beautiful, CaryAli is a go-anywhere explorer yacht, equipped with a host of toys and tenders, that allows her experienced owners to explore the far regions of the world in luxury and comfort. Representing several firsts for the yard she is both the first explorer yacht in Alloy Yachts’ long line of award-winning motoryachts and the first collaboration with Dutch Designer René van der Velden, who undertook her naval architecture and exterior design. CaryAli’s owners were extremely hands on throughout the design and build and the resulting yacht perfectly reflects their style and personality. Construction Management was overseen by MCM Newport, together with the Alloy Yachts team.
When designing CaryAli the overall layout began with the requirement that there be full walk around capability on all decks for easy access. Huge focus was also placed on both indoor and outdoor living with multiple living spaces on board the yacht, offering both privacy and flexibility of use for guests.
Particularly noteworthy is the stunning ‘modern beach house’ style interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon, which makes use of custom dyed golden walnut, stainless steel and grey and silver furnishings throughout the yacht. Each deck has its own specific feel and style that all link together to create one harmonious overall look.
CaryAli is able to welcome ten guests in five cabins, including the master suite, two double cabins and two twins. A beautiful spiralled guest stairwell spans three decks, linking the guest accommodation on the lower deck with the main deck and bridge deck. The spacious master suite, which incorporates his and hers bathrooms and a study, is housed on the main deck, affording it stunning views across the water.
Of all the outdoor spaces on board the sundeck, which is home to a spa pool, dining areas and access to the crow’s nest, is particularly popular. Also well-used is the bridge deck that was designed as a informal bar and seating space that is able to be open or closed to the weather using retractable glass shield windows. The aft main deck, which leads out from the main saloon, offers further seating space, and leads down to swimming platforms and the transom gym.
Well equipped for long-distance travel, CaryAli has a 4500 nautical mile range; two 900’ chain anchor rodes and a 400’ rear anchor and rode. She also carries 3 military Zodiac tenders; a 7.3m with a Volvo diesel inboard/outboard, a 5.6m with a 150hp Yamaha and a 4.5m with a 40hp Yamaha as well as a bow and stern thruster. A modern hull form, bulbous bow and zero-speed stabilizing ensure both comfort and low fuel usage. In addition to an extensive AY electronics package, she carries a sonar system in the bridge.
CaryAli is well-equipped to fish the oceans of the world and houses two large live bait wells, ice-chipppers and refrigerated fish storage on board. A large custom fighting chair can be deployed on the transom. In a testament to the level of detail applied to this project the onboard fishing rods even match the colour of the hull paint.
Proving herself as the global traveller her owners wanted her to be, CaryAli has already completed 3700 miles across the Pacific from Tahiti to San Diego. She will continue her global roaming plan in November by cruising the California coast, including the Channel Islands and Catalina, before making her way to Los Cabos in December then the Galapagos in February. After travelling through the Panama Canal, she will move on to the Exumas in the Bahamas, before crossing the Atlantic to cruise in northern Norway.
