NZ Marine would like to extend a hearty congratulations to captain R.J. Hawkins, who many of you will know better as Bob, on reaching 25 years with Dunsford Marine.
Captain R.J.(Bob) Hawkins, long time marine surveyor with the company, celebrated 25 years with Dunsford’s on 28th March 2014, with
a function held at the NZ Marine headquarters.
Having joined the company in 1989, Bob soon after became a shareholder, and later director and then managing director with various partners over the intervening years. While Bob also celebrated his 65th birthday on the same day, and officially retired, he is continuing to work as a marine surveyor on a sub-contracting basis.
Outside interests also compete for Bob’s time, including acting as a trustee at the National Maritime Museum, The Spirit of Adventure Trust and Maritime Museum Foundation. Bob’s also the current chairman of the Australia and NZ Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and on the committee of the NZ Branch of the Nautical Institute – so there’s plenty to keep him occupied.
A very warm congratulations Bob, from your marine industry association.
