TNL GAC Pindar recently imported TP52 racing yacht Calm 2 into Auckland to join a growing fleet of these exciting racing yachts.
The yacht was purchased in Melbourne and TNL Gac Pindar was contracted to propose the best solution to ship the yacht to its new home cruising ground. The best way to ship the TP52 was to remove its keel, which can be done easily, keeping the overall height relatively low.
A roll on, roll off service was utilised as this was the easiest and most cost-effective way to ship the vessel while minimising the risk of damage. The yacht and mast were transported by road from the marina in Melbourne, and transferred to a mafi trailer at Melbourne’s port. On arrival in Auckland, they were again put on a road trailer to be moved to the marina, before Calm 2 was reassembled and able to enjoy her home cruising grounds.
