Auckland On Water Boat Show has everything you need to add oomph to fishing stories, brining together the latest developments in trailer boats, electronic navigation and engines.
If you’re looking forward to throwing in a line this summer, head down to the Auckland On Water Boat Show from Thursday 25 September for the latest developments in fishing technology.
ADOS, Addicted to Fishing’s Nicky Sinden will be on-site with her new Stabicraft vessel. Nicky’s worked closely with the Stabicraft team to create her perfect fishing boat and this is your chance to see up close what the fishing pro thinks are must-haves to get the big catch. Nicky will also be on hand to share her fishing tips through the show’s seminar series. On Saturday and Sunday catch Nicky on the upper level of the Marine Events Centre at 12.30pm as she coaches you on catching the powerful Yellowtail Kingfish.
Suzuki are keen to help boaties reach favourite fishing grounds. Their new DF30A and 25A are the lightest outboards available in the 22kW and 18.5kW four-stroke outboard class, and have been designed for ease of use. Fuel injection delivers easier starts while a very light recoil starter requires less pull strength and a new engine cover design provides a cooler flow of air to the direct intake system boosting operating efficiency.
Blackdog Cat’s creators know a thing or two about fishing. Owners and designers Luke Seuren and Kevin Ogle regularly test the merchandise by getting out and chasing Marlin, Kingfish and any other local catch that takes their fancy. They’ve designed BlackDog Cat boats to keep up with all the fishing, diving and family outings they can throw at them and the boats’ huge beam, toughness and stability make them a keen-fisherman’s dream. The aluminium trailer boats will be whipping show visitors around the harbour for trials, demonstrating their hardiness and easy manoeuvrability. Book a time in with the guys at the show (so you don’t miss out) to see what all the fuss is about!
For boaties looking to re-power an older vessel, Hyundai SeasAll will be a must-visit. The new S270 model is based on the popular S250 and is now the highest horsepower unit in the brand’s high-speed product range. Design improvements allow for greater power in a smaller package. The ECU injection map of the S270 is all new and has been designed to deliver a flat torque curve giving both superior acceleration as well as power at the top end.
Raymarine’s new CHIRP SideVision has been designed for hunting out fish hiding under logs, reef structures, wrecks and similar. Available through Lusty & Blundell, the CP200 CHIRP SideVisionTM Sonar successfully combines for the first time, the company’s CHIRP sonar with side scanning technology to give fishers crystal clear, 180-degree photo-like pictures of what’s under and around their vessel.
Tristram Marine have designed a new trailer boat specifically for the offshore fishing market. The 701 Offshore was unveiled earlier this month was created to meet the needs of customers seeking hardtop models compact enough to work with lighter vehicles and shorter garages. At seven metres, the 701 Offshore is retains the family appeal Tristram boats are renowned for while maintaining an effective fishing pedigree.
Along side the 701’s unveiling this month came a surprise launch. Tristram added a 701 Vanquish with Targa top to its line up of 12 models, which is now the largest cabin boat in the range.
