This year’s Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show is celebrating 60 years of boat shows. There will be a fantastic range of activities, competitions and prizes to win throughout the show to celebrate this milestone.
Visitors to the Show’s Radio Sport Fishing Hall, one of the most popular parts of the show, will have the chance to win $500 worth of Shimano fishing gear. Just head to the Radio Sport Zone (stand 157) and enter your details on their iPad. You’ll automatically be in to win a $500 Shimano “big snapper and kingfish set” consisting of a Thunnus 8000 C14 reel and Backbone Elite rod! You’ll also be able to chat with the friendly Radio Sport crew and have a go at Soccer Foosball, PlayStation and Giant Kiwi Pong.
Because the Radio Sport Fishing Hall is New Zealand’s largest fishing supermarket, it is also a great place to check out all the latest fishing gear from the both major and the lesser-known suppliers. With three major retailers and more than $2m worth of bargains, this is the perfect spot to re-stock and get ready for all that exciting winter fishing ahead.
Those keen to improve their fishing and learn about all the latest tips and techniques won’t want to miss the Top Catch Ask The Experts free seminar series.
A highlight each year, the Top Catch Ask The Experts seminars are held throughout the show on the Top Catch stand in the Radio Sport Fishing Hall.
They last just 20 minutes each and there is always the chance to ask questions afterwards.
This year’s experts include:
Scott Parry and Michael (Mig) Rumney on catching kingfish with live bait and jigs;
Grant Bittle on using slow jigs;
Mal Dawson on the latest softbait techniques;
Joe Dennehy on micro jigs and when to fish;
Milan Radonich on the best tackle and techniques for catching kingfish.
Check times on the large Yamaha Information Boards at the show or in the Official Show Guide, given away free at the gate and included in every copy of the New Zealand Herald on Tuesday, May 12.
