Our speakers
Darren Vaux is co-owner and Managing Director of the Empire Marinas Group in Australia and President of ICOMIA. Darren is also a Director and past President of the Boating Industry Association of Australia and Chairman of the Ministerial Maritime Advisory Council in New South Wales, Australia.
With over 35 years’ experience in the property and marina Industries Darren has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience in navigating complex regulatory frameworks and delivering large and sophisticated projects. Darren has a deep understanding of government policy frameworks in the boating and marina Industries and is passionate about sharing and using this expertise to drive change through embracing financial and environmental sustainability, technology and innovation within the boating and marina industries.
Joe Lynch is CEO of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), based in UK.
Prior to joining ICOMIA as CEO in 2023, Joe ran his own consultancy business, supporting clients develop their commercial and marketing strategies in the leisure, tourism, and hospitality industries. Joe has also held senior executive positions in the marine industry with expertise in both inland and coastal charter operations.
Joe has helped a number of charities and associations with their membership and engagement strategies including the Royal Yachting Association in the UK. Joe is also a keen water-sports enthusiast and regularly competes in yacht racing from the UK South Coast.
Sarah Trotman, ONZM, CEO Business Mentors New Zealand is a results-focussed, experienced business leader. She has experienced the character-building challenges, as well as the exhilarating highs, of owning a Deloitte Fast 50 business – the fastest growing business owned by a woman in New Zealand.
Outside of her work advocating for small business New Zealand and quality leadership, Sarah is a Director, Trustee, Celebrant, an Auckland Council Local Board Member, an advocate for ending homelessness, an accessibility champion, a strong advocate for women, a Selection Panellist for the Blake Leadership Awards, a mother and an ex territorial soldier.
Dave Howden is CEO and co-founder of SupaHuman.ai, a pioneering AI solutions provider set to revolutionise the Artificial Intelligence landscape in New Zealand. The company aims to unlock the full potential of AI for New Zealand businesses and government agencies.
Building upon their impressive history in creating boutique software and services businesses, the founders of SupaHuman.ai are committed to elevating AI expertise and focus within New Zealand. Dave describes himself as a creative engineer at heart, and a straightforward thinker working in the emerging tech world since 2001, having led at BT, Orange UK, Umbrellar, Pax8, Integration Fox, and now SupaHuman.
Aaron Wallace is a Founding Director of Bellingham Wallace with 30+ years experience in complex accounting compliance, tax and structuring advice, with an additional focus on governance and business valuations in the mid-market. His experience includes an active Directorship role on many of his clients’ boards, providing leadership in strategy, tax structuring, financial modelling, bank funding, and mergers and acquisitions. Aaron advises across a range of sectors including construction, manufacturing, and warehousing. In addition to the commercial sector, Aaron has provided the role of Vice-President for the Royal New Zealand Coastguard, holding an appreciation for the marine and the not-for-profit sector
Sam Ingram of Malcolm Pacific Immigration has travelled extensively while working on major international construction projects having graduated from Kings College University in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
As an experienced professional in project management, Sam has developed sharp end skills in planning, process, strategy, and communication. Sam has a lifetime of experience in business, project management and immigration.
Sam is a Licensed Immigration Adviser and works on special projects to help develop and grow Malcolm Pacific Immigration. She will address our delegates on the immigration challenges for employers in 2024.
